Tonight was a rarity for recent weeks - both Karen and I took some time to sit around the fire pit on the patio and talk. No agenda - no pressing deadline (at least for tonight) - no big decision to wrestle with. We just listened to what was happening in each other's lives and processed stuff together. It was a nice break. Romans 12:10 says, "be devoted to one another," so tonight we took some time to listen to each other and renew our partnership against anything that might try to come between us, be it disappointments, frustrations, or schedules. There is something about staring at a fire together that helps unravel the tangles of life.
